What's it about?
A comedy about the famous reality TV family, the Kardashians.
What'd I experience?
I knew I was in for a treat when I saw this play was based off of the Kardashians. I’m a reality TV guru, I watch almost every reality show. I was so ready to see how each character was going to embody members of the family. I feel like I almost know the Kardashians so I would know if the actors were doing a stellar job at their impersonations.
KrisKat KhloeKat and KourtneyKat were the first ones on stage. KrisKat had Kris Jenner's hair down to a science I was like….
KhloeKat was dressed in all black and KourtneyKat was in a fur coat. The fashion was on-point. They informed the audience that it was okay to use your phones for everything especially selfies during the show. The only thing you couldn’t do was videotape. I was already excited but now I was elated. I can’t with those shows that are so strict about no phones being on in the theatre (I always put mine on silent anyway) I mean who, honestly, turns their phone all the way off?
After a few minutes, they sang a number about a savior who fulfills your every need. At the end of the number the stage went pitch black, a spotlight appeared and slowly rising from the ground appeared KimKat. She had her butt enhancement pads on and talked in a high-pitched voice. KimKat seemed like the boss. Every time there was an issue about contracts or rebranding themselves, KimKat had all the answers because she was just the one in charge.
KimKat was always busy and dressed like she was ready to walk on a runway. KrisKat kept calling KhloeKat fat and telling her how much she needed to hop on a treadmill. It was funny because I’m sure there are times when Kris Jenner probably did encourage Khloe to shed a few pounds. Even though it was funny, I couldn’t really laugh because - ummmmm - I’m not the skinniest person myself.
Bruce showed up too and then turned into Catlyn in the middle of the show. The funniest part of the show to me was that Catlyn sang better than all the other girls. Her voice was so angelic and soothing, it was funny because I was like how does this guy sound so good as a girl, even better than the other girls?!
The family made jokes about some of the recent headlines, like: Lamar Odom's hospitalization, Rob Kardashian's weight gain, and his new relationship with Blac Chyna. It really was fun and made me realize how much the Kardashians are truly the reigning champions of making money off of themselves.
They're just one big and rich happy family.
