I was never worried about growing up, and I wasn’t afraid of it. I’ve always been somebody—both to my detriment and to positive effects—that is pretty easily engaged in the moment. Even as a kid, I didn’t have very much anxiety about the future, and I remember at a young age having people say I was an “old soul.” So the idea of growing up, to me, never felt like something I was waiting for. And at least as a kid, I wanted to be perceived as older than I was.
