Who is that boy? Who is that man? Let me break it down for you. I am a teen who enjoys teen activities and I have multiple personalities. I have found their weakness and have learned to harness the power of these personalities. Do you want to know how? It would be kind of rude if I didn't tell you. Theater is my secret. Don’t go off telling the whole world now, but share it with the people close to you. There is a place in theater for the boy from the Bronx, the student from St. Johns, and the four-year-old ballerina. Did I mention how much I love food? If I haven’t, you know I do, so if you want to be my friend start at my stomach (technically, my mouth but I love theater... not science).
Jump to after the scene where Romeo and Juliet killed themselves.
Both of their families come into their tomb and agree to peace.
Then, Juliet comes back to life and rips off a piece of her mother's flesh.
The Nether is about the dark side of Internet, in the future.
Honestly, this play made me feel very uncomfortable and disturbed. It was about a man hosting a brothel with underage girls but this was in a virtual world (I mean that's the way I understood it). So in a way it wasn't illegal, but it was a way for a person to explore that kind of fantasy. I didn't completely appreciated the message of the play. I believe if I were to see it again I would appreciate it more. Also I am the type of person who does not read anything about a show before watching it and in my opinion this is a show you must know what you are getting into.
You know when you are looking for something and then you see this big sign that guides you there. Well... the complete opposite happened for this play. I was huffing and puffing in the cold with a sore throat looking for some theater somewhere in this city of lights, when a dim light (nothing more than a mere light fading off a Christmas tree) barely helped me find my way. This search was not the only challenge that night, there were challenges at every corner.
Challenge # 1- Avoid the People or they won`t you.
Challenge # 2-Did I mention it was cold?
Challenge # 3-Where am I? Who am I? To be or not to be or sort of to be and being there while you be who you are saying or claiming to be? (WTF???)
Challenge #4-Attack of the Comedians!?!
Challenge #5-What type of theater is this?
Challenge #6-99-Everything Else
Challenge #100-I didn't expect it to be any good.
You will be surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed this play and couldn't wait to tell you all about it.
